Irish Troops Represent Boys In Blue Overseas

15 Jul 2015

Dublin Soldiers overseas show their support for the Boys In Blue, who became Leinster Champions this past Sunday for the tenth time in eleven years.

Pictured from left to right, are Captain Barry Faulkner (Templeogue), Signalman Stephen Phelan (Clondalkin), Lieutenant Commander Clodagh Mc Connell (Clontarf), Sgt Francis Wade (Finglas) and Airman Stephen O' Hanlon (Kilmainham).

The group, along with 176 other Irish Soldiers, are part of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL). The unit departed Ireland on May 17th, and will return home in November.

The peace-keeping work that Irish Soldiers are doing around the world is incredible. It goes without saying that all here in Clontarf are immensely proud of Lieutenant Commander Clodagh Mc Connell, and all the Irish Troops overseas.

Many thanks to Lieutenant Conor Dunne for sharing the great photograph with us.
